This is an opportunity for parent carers in Barking & Dagenham to speak directly with our MP about the issues affecting children and young people with SEND and their families.
We want parents’ lived experiences to be at the heart of the discussion. Topics are expected to include EHCP delays and accountability, access to suitable school placements and specialist provision, SEND support in mainstream schools, attendance and EBSA, exclusions, access to health and therapy services, SEND transport, and concerns about proposed national SEND and education reforms.
There will also be an opportunity to raise other SEND-related issues that you feel need greater attention locally or nationally.
The purpose of the meeting is not only to discuss individual experiences, but to identify the common themes affecting Barking & Dagenham families and ensure these concerns are heard by our MP and can inform the issues she raises and takes forward.
